And when I say “this one” – I mean Tinker Taylor. Not Dragon Tattoo, where this reply seems to have posted – which I refuse to see, because it’ll just screw up the book and the swedish movies.
I know, I’m a bad book person for not reading Girl first, but I just ran out of time! I’m still going to get to the books (and the Swedish movie) eventually!
I’m still in awe of The Artist – sooooo amazing! I’m glad it’s playing in Oz at the moment (it only came to our small, independent movie theater here, not the multiplexes).
And same goes for Tinker, Tailor – Gary Oldman really was great (very subtle performance but still terrific).
I saw TInker Taylor in NZ, and it had a really grainy look to the movie – and I wasn’t sure if that was how it was supposed to be, or if it was just a really bad projection – what was yours like? And afterwards I was exhausted – it was hard work concentrating for such a long movie!
I don’t remember it being particularly grainy beyond it definitely having the feel of the film quality of a 70s movie… Maybe the theater had a bad print?
Mary Clockwork by Anne Rumery
Price: $3.99 USD. 72810 words. Published on February 15, 2013. Fiction.
Mary Balfour is a precocious 13-year-old in Victorian London. In the mysterious absence of her parents, she's pretty much on her own. She wants Sherlock Holmes to train her as a consulting detective, but he turns her down, so she decides to get back at him. With the help of her servants and a group of less-than-respectable friends, she plans a crime that even he cannot solve.
I’m glad you finally updated! And yay, I got an e-mail about it!!
Yay!
Your 3 movies are showing up on 3 different pages… that’s different to normal!
I agree with everything you said about this one.
And for once I’m actually vaguely up-to-date with movies, too. I just saw “The Artist” today – it’s great!
