YA Fiction

Audrey, Wait by Robin Benway

If you’re looking for a sweet, frothy concoction of a book, look no further. I tore through this book in a few hours while waiting for my flight to London and it’s the perfect book for passing a few boring hours.

Audrey’s ex-boyfriend writes a song about their break-up and his band is not the only one catapulted into the limelight. That’s really all there is to it! But Audrey’s voice is smart and cool – with a dash of Georgia Nicholson – her friends are likable and her new crush is fantastic.

I’m definitely usually in the angst-free YA category, so I’m looking forward to reading more from Benway. Not sure how well it’ll age due to the various band name-dropping going on (some are fictional [I think] but some are real and though definitely appropriate for Audrey to be listening to, they might date the book fairly quickly), but it’s not a big deal.
